California's Beauty - Bigsur

Jugni in Bigsur

“This place is heavenly” is a commonly used statement for a lot of places and Bigsur is one of them. It is California's one of the most beautiful places to visit. The pictures say more than everything.

Bigsur

Travel to Bigsur

It’s a 2 hours drive from San Francisco and an hour or so drive from the bay area, oh yes, it depends on the crazy traffic too. Bigsur is one of the most beautiful places to visit for a day trip from San Francisco (Bay Area). There many spots to stop over during the drive and admire the beauty around you. Every spot is miraculously beautiful, but yes, expect some traffic on highway 1.

Our go-to place!

My partner and I lived in the bay area for almost 3 years and we visited Bigsur on almost all occasions. Anyone and everyone who visited us in these 3 years, witnessed the Bigsur beauty and no one ever complained about traffic (if it was there on weekends). It was all worth it at the end.

Drive to Bigsur!

The drive is nothing less than laying in the arms of nature and driving by the best views (hills and water).

Bigsur Beauty and the Beast

Carmel-by-the-sea!

There is a small town Carmel-by-the-sea right next to Bigsur, surrounded by hills and gorgeous people with high end cars and houses. We stopped by for some Italian food at a place, Little Napoli and had the best pasta, bread along with an ambience which takes you straight to Italy.

Things to do in Bigsur

Bigsur is a very popular spot for people intersted in camping overnight. There’s a state park to park your caravans and camp in the woods. If you are not interested in that, you can always just drive to feel the nature, air and water. There are so many spots where you can easily park your car and enjoy the spectacular views.

Isolated Beach!

I still haven’t found out the name of the beach, it is kind of isolated. My partner just wanted to stop the car for some air, and he pulled over and we discovered this (picture below). The wooden stairs takes you down to the beach, it’s not a big walk, just a few minutes. A few things to note: the stairs sometimes have a stop sign and you can’t access the beach because of high tides. I have attached pictures of both cases.
Also since there were really less number of people, our fur baby had the most amazing time. She loves running around and playing with water.

There were times when the weather was not that good and it was dark and cloudy with rain, but the water still holds its beauty and the picture below proves it.

Bixby Bridge

There is a very famous and one of the oldest bridges. We enjoyed some breathtaking views and specially sunsets. There is another rocky bridge right before this (a few miles only). Many confuses that bridge with the famous Bixby, but you will recognize it when you see it :)
